Hot and humid here. 90º by noon with a feels-like temp of 96º. Broke down and bought 2 DEhumidifiers as the house was getting up to 63% and not cooling at all. Someone needs to figure out how we can trade and balance out the weather across the nation!

I am helping DD move from her second story apartment this weekend. Starting early when it's *only* 80 degrees. (Where's there "Phew!" sign icon?)

We are raining every day but 90s so the humidity is 100%. This is horrible. My animals are now eating the plants because I cannot keep the deterrent on the plants because the rain washes it off so they are eating everything in my yard. hundreds of hostas now without leaves.

Wish I could send you some, it seems all it does is rain this Spring. Out of our next 10 days it is supposed to rain 9 of them. When it is not raining the humidity gets you just feel wet almost all of the time.

I wish I could send some to whoever needs rain, too! (I'm just glad it isn't snow, it would be over our roof by now)

8% here for the low. 23% for the high. In other words, pass the water please!

We have some rain every once in a while here. So it is not that dry. But some nice weather isn't bad also !

You know it is really dry when:

The poison ivy dies.
Trees drop limbs.
Radishes won't grow.
The cats run into the house to drink water so they can pee later.
Spiders are crowding around the pond.
Camels are crowding around the pond.
You spray the garden and no water reaches the ground.
The Triffids are dying in the fields.
The Martians come offerring US water.

I feel for my hot, dry south western neighbors.
We live in rural Michigan and have what are called 'flowing wells' or 'flowing springs'.
At random areas, for instance-in a field, water will bubble up from underground and flow until it finds a low point to drain into. Some of these local springs have run for generations, one of which runs at 300 gallons per minute!
The spring across the road from us stopped flowing about 8 years ago and then this spring it started flowing again.
It is good water, its been tested. My neighbors grandfather pounded a copper pipe in the ground, we drink from it when we are haying in that field.

I worked outside today. It was so humid and the sweat factor was so high that I had to change my shirt 3 times. Guess I would be willing to trade some of this humidity for some dead poison ivy and a herd of spiders and/or camels around the pond. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing The Triffids and Martians were just gravy. Such fun!!
