Swayback gave me a couple of voodoo corms a couple of yrs ago and I have a few questions. I have mine potted and I wanted to know if blooming depends on the size of the corms, size of the plant, age of the plant and/or because it goes dormant in the winter is this setting back the bloom time?

I am assuming that what I have is the most common kind of voodoo lily.

Hi they usually bloom the start of season. Then they produce the plant after blooming looks like konjac to me i could be wrong but the corm has to get pretty big for this.

I just bought some 3 gallon pots, I'm going to put each corm in it's own pot in the fall. If that it still not enough I may plant them in the flower bed and see how they do. The corms have noticeably gotten bigger since I have had them. And did I read somewhere that they prefer shade?

Lindsey now that is a pretty plant. You will probably be upgrading to a larger pot also.

Shade? Oh my. I have mine on my deck where they are in full sun all day.

I received my first A. konjac from an experienced grower from Arkansas who told me I'll get the best tuber growth in full sun. That has certainly proven to be true here in MA. In some climates like in Plano, TX the leaf will burn in full sun. I'd say give them as much sun as they can take.
