Anyone Growing this honeysuckle? Is it fragrant. I keep buying honeysuckles that they say are fragrant and when they bloom they are not fragrant or the only way you can get a faint smell is if you bury your face in the bloom.

I'd never heard of European Honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum Peaches and Cream) but it sure is gorgeous. The database doesn't have any info about fragrance but Monrovia: http://www.monrovia.com/plant-... lists it as being wonderfully fragrant.

Well, ignore that statement because the database does list it as fragrant! My old eyes are always playing tricks on me.

Nature Hills website said "The flowers are extremely fragrant, the scent easily carried along on the gentlest of breezes"
it could be a stretch but extremely fragrant sounds a lot better than just fragrant , like most honeysuckle reviews I've read of other varieties.

Yes I have read other sellers say the same thing about other Honeysuckles I have purchased I do not believe them anymore.

I want to hear it is fragrant from gardeners.

I have one and the flowers are so very pretty. That said I have never been able to decent any sort of scent. Unfortunately it seems like the Japanese Honeysuckles are the only ones that are truly fragrant.

Thank you. I am not surprised. I keep seeing all this rave about fragrant and nothing. I did purchase because it was marked down but I did not want to plant it in my fragrant spot if it was not fragrant and just another lie from the sellers.

I have a fragrant garden and I am not going waste a spot for something that is not fragrant. I thought it would be a good fragrant bloom extender for the summer sweet clematis.

Find another spot for it as it is very pretty.

I have lots of spots I have a couple acres I am gardening. I was just hoping this was fragrant. It is hard to find a lot of fragrant perennials for late summer.

I have a lot for spring early to early mid summer but I am having trouble finding fragrant for late summer.

I have this honeysuckle and it produces a dark purple flower and then it starts producing multiple tubular flowers that are white/pink on the bottom of the purple flowers. Those tubular flowers are the fragrant flowers. Until they form there isn't a scent .
I am in 7 B . Hot and humid and I can easily smell these .
