This is another semp I have questions about. I have had it since 2009. The problem being is that I got it from Fred Myers. When I took it home and looked at photos it appeared to be the correct plant, and certain times of the year it still matches with photos of 'Abba' on the German sites. But even the German sites seem to have more than one semp representing 'Abba'?

And this is what the DVD from Fernwood shows:
Photo is taken in September

Lynn just my humble opinion, yours looks very much like a classic tectorum, the ones on German sites including Fernwood's do not look tectorum.
Also there do seem to be at least 2 different plants represented as Abba from the sites. If we have a description that would help, is it tufted? Etc.
I tip my hat to you.

Sighing! Another one bits the dust.
I think I will take it out of the bed and use it in the front yard bed under the front room window.

Bummer, so we take the Abba name tag off? Mine was one of them doing very well.

On researching this one I find that it has been in circulation in the U.S. for a long time. And it appears that we have never had the original 'Abba' in the U.S.?
Here is what I have done Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Abba ll')
Please label your 'Abba' as 'Abba ll'. The database has been changed.

This is also what the European community does when this comes up.
How do the rest of your feel about this?

I've always wondered if the 'Abba' we all have isn't 'Bernstein'?

No, it sure doesn't look like my 'Bernstein'. Much bigger and different form and color at certain times of the year.

Lynn, the new entry for the original Abba I noticed contain photos from Trixi and Fernwood of Abba but the info for those photos are defaulted to Pacific Northwest zone 8b and the dates photo taken is really those dates in April, May and Aug and Sept?

The dates are correct. I forgot about the default location. I will go fix that. Thank you for the heads up Bev. Group hug
