Did not see a thread for shots of wild animals seen in our gardens/yards so I thought I'd start one.

Had this dinosaur ramble through the yard yesterday...

Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina). Biggest one I've ever seen. This has got to be an OLD turtle.

Wow....he's huge! Saw some that size in Chincoteague...they looked like subs coming up to the surface. My son lives near a lake & 2 ponds, & he has snappers coming into his garden to lay eggs....not that size though!

Had a Broad-winged Hawk in my area a couple days ago. Don't see them nearly as often as Red-tailed Hawks.

These guys might be familiar to some of you. I used to accidentally dig them up all the time in my friend's yard when I was a kid. Yellow-spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum).

Out in western Massachusetts where I go to school, they just had their spring migration. I helped a bit with tallying numbers and helping the lil guys cross a road. Aren't they just adorable Lovey dubby
