Thread OP

Sighing! I am new to Iris and this forum and I need some help. A neighbor has given me some bulbs from her garden (a bucket full) and I wanted to know do I have to plant them immediately or can I take a couple of weeks? I live in NW Tennessee and it is hot and muggy and aince I just moved from NM I am really trying to adjust.

Dry In sun, then place in a dry shaded area as the others have noted. Smiling

in the sun for a short time (a day or two) to dry any leftover soil around the rhizome. Then to a cool dry space until ready to plant.

If you have significant soil around the rhizomes, then you need to knock it off.

Welcome; great advice so far and always available here!
Central east TN was always muggy also, but not quite as hot. Irises are very forgiving, at least the bearded ones.
