I am not sure what this plant is. Does anyone have an idea of what species it might be? This picture was taken in the early morning and is in full sun.




I am hoping that it will bloom so that I might be able to get a better ID on it. I need to know if it is compatible for my zone or if I will need to over winter it.

Passiflora. Some kind of passion fruit.

Maybe a juvenile peony, sorry did not see the vining part of it

It does look like maybe a variety of Passion Flower (Passiflora) possibly the native Maypop (Passiflora incarnata) which is found in many parts of the U.S. Scroll down this page for the map: https://plants.usda.gov/core/p...

Thanks Andrea, Rj and Lin. I appreciate your response. I am also thinking that is what it is. I did winter sow some passiflora but lost track of them. I will need to put up a trellis for them to climb. I think I will just leave them here in this raised bed and see what they do. Do you know if I can over winter it for next year?
