Dave - I was going to ask you to do a video on the use of this new tool when I saw it offered in the July NARR. When I saw it listed as one of the prizes, I immediately thought it would be something I would pick if it was one of the prizes I could choose from.

I have a lot of garden beds and many of those beds have weeds like those you pulled out in your video. I think I would love this tool. My only concern .... would and should I consider the long handled version since I do have problems getting up and down constantly due to age. But I really do like the looks of this new tool and will have to consider getting one if I don't have the opportunity to win it in one of the upcoming NARRs.

The long handled tool is the one I've never messed with. Knowing Noel, I'm sure a lot of thought went into its creation and it's probably very nice. I'm so impressed with him and what he has done. I'm glad the video was helpful to you. Good luck in the raffle!

Looks good; anything to make weeding easier. This year is especially bad with all the rain and weed growth. It looks like a good product for grasses & heavy rooted weeds. I'll probably get one soon the way things look in my gardens.

I bought the original Cobra Head weeder for this year and I think it is one of the best gardening tools I have ever owned.

BUT ... It is too large for my hand. Choking up on the handle is the only way I can use the tool. Of course, that means I don't get the best use of the weeder because I am not using it as designed. Even under those circumstances, I still think it's the best tool I've used for weeding. It is well made and will outlast me ...

I entered the contest hoping I'd win the smaller version, but if I don't, I will buy one ...

As for getting up and down ... send me a t-mail and I'll share my tricks about how I've learned to do that in an older body, if you are interested ... I don't want to clutter up this thread

I recently saw an ad somewhere for the Cobra and was thinking that I really, really need to get one! I'm sitting out on this month's not a raffle raffle so I might just have to order one of those awesome weeders!

I went to their website and tried to order the original CobraHead - tried two separate times - filled out all pertinent information: name, address, e-mail, phone number, etc. They offer the option of paying with PayPal which I selected but then I get an error message saying something is wrong and to contact them. I guess I will try again tomorrow and call them if it doesn't work.

Let him know, Lin. He will definitely want to know if there's a problem on his website.

I just place my order around 9:30 p.m. EDT last night and got an e-mail this morning that it has shipped! WOW, that is what I call FAST! I look forward to working in the garden with my new CobraHead tools!

Hmm. Perhaps I'll give this tool another whirl. I bought the regular one earlier this year on the advise of folks here, but find I just never reach for it. It's in my tool bucket, so I'll make a concerted effort to use it and see if I like it or not. Sometimes I just don't use unfamiliar tools because they are...unfamiliar.

I think I will be using mine a lot!

LOL, I wondered about the longer handles too. I'm 5 ' 4 1/2" ... unless I've shrunk even more the past couple of years and I thought about getting the 54" length but ended up ordering the 48" which I'm sure will work fine for me.

I only have the short one since I work 99% of the time kneeling on the ground (on a doubled over old bath mat). I do love it.

I would love to hear (read about) your tips and tricks on gardening with an older body :hurray:. I was one of those people that were never going to get old. My body was was going to perform perfectly for eternity. Boy eternity got here awfully quick!
