Lustrous near black. More old fashioned form. Certainly one of the darkest in the garden. Branching can sometimes crowd flowers.

My first blooms were yesterday. They opened late for me this morning, but it has been cooler in the morning.

The plant is an area that get periodic direct sun for short periods throughout the day and otherwise nice filtered sunlight. It really retained its color nicely both yesterday and today.

This is a very nice dark one. It holds its color pretty well. The form is old fashioned, but it does stand out in the garden. It is pod and pollen fertile.
