Hello all,

I purchased this lavender plant and repotted it in a bigger pot and it has now tripled in size in two months. It gets sun all day but when should I expect to see blooms ?

I have had a Hidicote Lavender for 5 years and a Phenomenal Lavender for 3 years, they both bloom for me around the 4th week in June. I am always surprised each year when they come back since it is not the ideal climate for Lavender.

Thank you for your response! So from the looks of mine does it seem like its almost blooming ? as i have no idea on the look of the plant before blooming.

I have zero luck with lavendar, I think my soil is too rich and doesn't drain quick enough. I consider it a temperamental annual that sometimes gives me 2 seasons, but rarely any more. I also always misspell it (see above), not sure what that's about...

Mine just throw up a few stalks with very small buds, I have killed a few, but now dig a lot of pea gravel into the hole for the sharp drainage, I use minimum amount of compost and try to get them in full sun on a south exposure. There are a lot of people on the site that are very knowledgeable on Lavenders. My issue alway has to do with when and how much to prune, I typically have to look it up every year...just don't remember.

There are good examples of what the stalks and buds look like.

I'm just not enamored enough to do all the tricks to keep them alive. I've never figured out the pruning thing, seems like a lot of bother.

It is, but nothing like the fragrance!😀

It is very distinctive. I'm neutral on its appeal.
