I know, I know. I'm sorry for bringing up a painful subject. But it has to be done. We have several growing in the backyard that I have no issue with. But there's one in a front flowerbed that has to go. I don't want it so close to the house and it's rather out of place there. We tried last year--Cut it all the way down and the husband sprayed it with something (paint? Not sure). But sure enough (as I predicted) it's coming back. And really quickly- about four feet already this spring.

What's the best way to get rid of this girl? At this point it's personal

Cut it and paint the stump right away with an herbicide; I'd use Remedy.
