Hi there, my dad thinks this was ground cover from a flowerbed that's run wild, we don't know what it is or how to get rid of it. I forgot to take a picture of the whole thing, it's almost vine like, 6 inches or so long with little roots along the vine to hold it down. I've attempted to google a description of it to no avail. Thanks.

Here's a couple more photos just to be certain. I showed Dad a picture of the flowering plants and he agrees that it might be correct.
