OK, just made an account to ask this question. My dad was digging a hole to plant some flowers when he found these weird white plant that looks like a small tomato or a potato. At first we thought it was a stink-horn "egg" but these have more of a shine as apposed to stink horn seeds. Moreover, these things have a similar = shine on their insides (they also have a thin layer of clear slime. bit of a non-sequitur but I figured I should put it somewhere). I've attached an image below and would appreciate if you could tell me what the hell this thing is. Thanks

It looks like a bulb. How big are they? What did the inside look like? What does the bottom look like? More photos?

a bulb of some kind. Plant it in a sunny spot and keep an eye on it.

It looks a lot like bulb of the wild onion weed that I always get in spring. They give a small white flower and spread like crazy

Can we get something for size reference please? and more photos? Is there only one of these? or are there a ton of them? Is this property/garden new to you or have you been planting here for years?

I have dug up squill bulbs that look like that. Unfortunately, I do not know the variety. The ones I have do not like to be disturbed. Their leaves are like some types of hyacinths but not as wide. Leaves disappear after spring. Once disturbed it may take two years to flower, but will send up green in the spring.

I think the non-sequitur was the slime when @kidicarus5 cut the bulb open. But actually, that's a great hint towards identity. So not a non-sequitur at all.
