Pizza Crust is a late bloomer in my garden. It just started blooming this past week.

The blooms always look good, and open well even with the crazy weather we have been having. It is a good cultivar to combine with peach, yellow or pink daylilies, as it complements them all.

The blooms have held up to the heavy downpours we have been experiencing this summer, as well.

Late season heavy bloomer, 3/4 way branching, 20 plus buds, 5 - 5.5 inch blooms, around 30 inch average scape, bloom season is about 3 weeks at most in my yard as there are many open blooms each day.
super easy pod setter, opens wide, flawless blooms, dependable every year.

Pizza Crust was planted April 2019 on Upper Daylily Hill. I didn't see any flowers last year. This summer 2021, from July 26 to August 3rd, PC had flowers every day and sometimes several. It's a very pretty flower that opens fully with a nice ruffle. I like it!

Pretty slow performance from PC in 2022. Only bloomed from July 22- August 1, with 8 flowers. I suspect it was not a fan of the heat and drought we had this summer.

Pizza Crust was a bonus plant in 2015, but it was just one of those daylilies that I could live without, so in 2021 I gave it away. No rust on it and it usually bloomed throughout July. I probably should have kept it just because it was a mid-late, but I just wasn't fond of the color.

Branching was two to three-way and most pictures show it to be somewhat top-branched. Probably about 15-20 buds and it did have sturdy scapes that were around the registered height of 30 inches.

In 2018, this tree frog took up residence on this scape.

An early evening photo. Sometimes the petals looked like they needed to open up just a little bit more.

These blooms look very nice, but to me the color appears somewhat muddy. It is registered as "tan pastel pink blend with green throat".

2023 update…a better year for Pizza Crust, it bloomed from July 19- August 15. I only caught 11 blooms on camera but I'm sure there were more. The blooms seem to change color every day.
