It did great here this year, other years not so good here in zone 6b.I think it needs warmer winters to be at it's best.

Got it from Pat when it was introduced. Grew it until a couple of years ago. Noted the same thing Boyd mentioned- it doesn't like the harsh winters we can get here in SW VA.. Does OK during mild winters. Will add. Pic when I'm on computer.

Bella Sera is one of my favorite daylilies to breed with. It may be touchy to grow in the Northlands, but here in USDA Zone 7a-b, it does fine. My best seedling is from it---and is a hard dormant. The cross is: Bella Sera x Jerry Nettles. Jerry is about as Evergreen and tender as it gets. It barely grows here---only blooms about 1 in 3 years. The front half of Bella's cross has a lot of Evr in it---but the back half is heavy with hard Dormants. That dormancy comes back in the second generation. Bella also gives great, ruffled, full form to the flowers. It will always be in my garden. The first two pics will be of Bella Sera. The next ones will be of seedlings from the cross of (Bella Sera x Jerry Nettles).

Same here, it was beautiful this year after a mild winter, I think every bloom was perfect & the plant came back this spring nice and healthy. It really is a beautiful bloom that opens well early, not nearly as heavy a bud count as the stats show, only average count even this year.

Looks like I need to cross Jerry Nettles with Bela here. Jerry has been an above average performing daylily in my garden, I like the seedlings that you got from your crosses Greg.

Beautiful flower. I have had this plant for many years. It has
never been divided and is now a large clump. The entire plant
does very well, and it is one that I look forward to seeing every season.
