I have a beautiful plant that have grown from a seed. However, it won't flower. It just starts forming new branches... like it did flower, but won't make a flower stalk.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Matt, you don't say how old your seedling is. Be thankful for the branches, each tip is a chance for flowers so the more the better. Thumbs up

Matt, I also have quite a few plumeria started from seed. I have to bring them inside under lights in the Winter. Just put them outside for some "rain" yesterday. Going down to 44F tonight, but they should be okay. As Hetti said, as long as there is growth, be thankful!! I only ever saw a plumeria in bloom in Cuba a few years ago, and was immediately stricken!! LOL. Cheers!

Hi folks! I live in south Louisiana and have been growing Plumeria for about 15 years. The plant in question is about 5 years old and has produced numerous branches. It started life with a main stalk and 5 shoots that came out around the base. Almost all of those branches, as well as the main trunk, have also branched - like they do when they flower... But never a flower stalk. I've grown many from seeds and all have bloomed by this point of maturity. The base is almost 4" in diameter. Just wondering if I produced a flowerless variety (wouldn't that be sad?)
Otherwise it's a beautiful, healthy plant that I was going to name after my granddaughter - Sophia Bliss - after it flowered, but so far nothing... Sighing!

Occasionally there are these 'branchers' among the seedlings. Sadly they don't tend to produce many flowers. I guess they spend all their energy on branching... Shrug!

What are your thoughts on hydroponically grown Plumerias ? This was gifted to me by the Herzogs. One of many that Carl has hydroponiclly grown. It is only 1 year and 4 months.

I know very little about the method, but Carl and Joy are serious growers and I would trust their plants implicitly.

My 36" tall (single stem) Variegated Pink Maya had it's growth bud "Pinched" today in _Hopes it'll be forced to activate dormant side branches... thoughts?

I swear, I heard it SCREAM when I decapitated it's bud (as the plumeria blood) dribbled out & down it's stem. Crossing Fingers!
