Not sure if you can see in the photo, but there is a new large stem growing from the base of our dwarf avocado and was wondering if we let it grow or remove?
Name: Carol Santa Ana, ca Sunset zone 22, USDA zone 10 A.
I can't see it well, but that may be a graft above the new limbs...the darker section where it looks more like bark. A better pic. of that area would be helpful. If that is a graft, Philip would be correct.
Name: Daisy I Reno, Nv (Zone 6b) Not all who wander are lost
I can't imagine a nursery grown dwarf avocado that isn't grafted. Cut it off.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost
