What's going on with the shape of my cucumbers? I do have them planted right by jalapenos could that be the problem?

I have had many years of "misshaped" cucumbers tasting just like normal ones so I would say just don't sweat it because they naturally grow in many shapes its just the grocery stores and huge producers that only take the "good" shaped ones and make you think they should all grow like that.

I think the odd shape is due to incomplete pollination, nothing related to your jalapenos. As Cole said, they are perfectly fine to use, but you will probably need to use them fairly quickly as the ones with narrow ends seem to start rotting more quickly than the "normal" ones.

If you're so inclined, you can use an artist's paintbrush to transfer pollen from the male flowers to the female flowers (the female flowers are the ones with a tiny cucumber beneath the flower).
