I have a fairly persistent issue with fungus gnats, and rather than trial and error all the products and methods, I figured I would ask the true experts. It's been going on for about a month or so. Set out apple cider vinegar with a couple drops of dish soap and that seemed to slow things a bit. Let the soil dry down as well and hat also seemed to help. However, I'm not sure I'm getting to the eggs / larvae. What is the best way to resolve this once and for all? Thank you!!

Sticky flypaper will remove most of the adults. Before attempting anything more exotic, I would recommend that as a useful first step.

Keep the soil as dry as possible. The gnat larvae live in the uppermost portion of the soil. If they are deprived of moisture they will die. The winged adults die of "old age" in about a week. The key is to treat the larvae in the soil.

If you are having a persistent problem, there is a good chance you are introducing the problem with the potting mix that you use.
