If you are new to daylilies or a seasoned daylily buyer, it never hurts to check out sellers before placing an order. Save yourself some heartache and money. Join some of the daylily buyers review groups on FaceBook and get the "scoop" on sellers before you place that first order.

I know what you mean. I just wish we could let people know BEFORE they get stung. The one you are talking about thrives on newbies. The only way to stop some of these sellers is to dry up their supply of newcomers. A legitimate, good seller thrives on repeat customers.

Ginny, that's funny I did too, and immediately I thought of you, as I know that you purchase a lot online. Good for you and a big to QH Barbie for posting the links to warn those of us who are newer to this venue of service. I've got to mention this to another member who hasn't posted in a while. I need to give her a call anyway.

Thankfully, Ive never run across a daylily swindler. I did go look up the JR. Never heard of him, cant even find a facebook page, to check it out. Says he doesnt sell on the LA. Looks like alot of us buy from the same places and have good luck.

J.R. has his own FaceBook auction site. It has been listed several times on the buyers review sites.

The person being warned about is Jeff Rowe. I have no problem with naming this man because I am also a recipient of garbage plants that didn't live. Posting cryptic messages about bad sellers does no one any good. Jeff Rowe has hundreds of complaints on Facebook citing the same reasons over and over. He depends on new people to keep going... Sellers who repeatedly screw people over should be brought out into the light because it's the only way to efficiently warn people about the risk they may be taking with a seller.

I agree 100 percent with you. Hopefully we can get a lot of newbies over to the buyers review groups where this problem can be discussed. There have been other crooks out there. Even after Jeff is long gone, there will be others to take his place. That is, unless we can get the word out to all daylily buyers. That's the only way to stop these horrible sellers--dry up the supply of unknowing victims.

He (Jeff Rowe) is banned from selling on the daylily auction, deservedly so from what I have been hearing.
I remember him from when he was a beginner, he didn't even know how to plant the seeds he won from my listings.
Two years later he came out as this daylily expert, I was thinking what the hay to myself, then the reality of what he really is started showing up.
There are whole pages on Facebook from people that got stung by this guy, at least 2 separate groups that I know of were formed because of his actions.
From what I understand he still has a sales page on Facebook, but I have been banned for calling him out so I'm not certain if it is still running.

who was he on the LA.

Just curious, what was the enticement? Did he offer hard to find plants, or selling them at a much reduced price....just wondering. Thx

He was selling at low prices compared to other sellers, people complained about their blooming sized fans looking like pencils, many of his plants were not what he sold them as.
I remember he had a bunch of people sticking up for him, but the vast majority weren't happy at all.

It's a new year and people are continuing to be scammed. I thought it was time to bump this thread again. Please join some of the FB daylily review groups.

There is a lot of good information on them. My go to if I want information on a seller.

Yea, that guy comes up now and then on the good the bad the ugly FB page. Like you say, some happy for the cheap plants, others pretty bummed.
I wish they would put info on seed sellers too. Ive already gotten squishy seeds this year.
