Cut flowers from our gardens bring our garden treasures indoors. It's especially nice when we grow or have some baby's breath on hand to round out the arrangements. But if you don't have any, you can still round out those arrangements with other small, dainty flowers you might be growing at the time.
This year, I had a bumper crop of dill weed.
The flowers are especially beautiful looking like a miniature display of fireworks.
Here's an example of those flowers used in a flower arrangement (if you can call it that--my flower-arranging skills aren't very good
. I'm sure yours will be better!) instead of baby's breath.
A word of caution though: Dill flowers wilt very soon after cutting so it's important to make sure their stems are cut at an angle, and that they're placed in cool water as soon as possible after cutting. If they do droop, no worries. They'll perk up after being in cool water for an hour or so.
Added benefit: The delicate fragrance of dill surrounds the arrangement and permeates the immediate area.
