Sometimes, our plants just flop over or they grow in a direction that doesn't please us. Larger plants may need to be staked, but you can use simple plastic forks to prop up and train your smaller ones whether they're in a bed, in planters or in pots.
Just insert the fork handle into the soil and gently place the plant's stem between the tines. If the stem is too thick to fit without scraping, just break off one or two of the tines to create a larger space (not one of the outer tines though
) Using the clear plastic type means they will be less visible.
Repeat as necessary until your plant is propped in the desired position. You can leave the forks there or remove them after some time has gone by. As long as the plant has grown somewhat, it will stay in the "forked" position.
