Jolly Uncle Jelly has been a slow increaser but I like shade of the bloom and that it is later in the season. It will probably make way for a newer plant soon
I was drawn to this plant because it's a later bloomer and I wanted a nice color that would bridge the gap between the rest of that section of garden and VL Sandra Elizabeth, and this plant has been great for me in that roll. It blooms registered height for me, which is 34 inches. I get 20ish buds on the best scapes, but maybe I average 15 on the lesser scapes. It is a bud builder, which helps with performance. I found some stats from 2019. It started blooming on July 29 for me, and bloomed until Sept 7, so one day shy of 6 weeks. That's very good for my garden. I do have it planted in a prime location for sun, which might be a factor in it's performance as well.
Jolly Uncle Jelly
Here are some seedlings I got from a cross I did, Pearce Sdlg 97-01-09 x Jolly Uncle Jelly. That Pearce seedling is another great, later bloomer with a light orange color and a very subtle purple pattern or band that can show on it.
