From the early days of UF hybridizing, LIME PEEL has huge, stunning yellow blooms with a green infusion. At the time of its introduction, it was a "state of the art" bloom for its size and motion. I grew it for awhile, but the scapes would not hold up to wind and needed staking to remain upright. I would consider it a hybridizer's flower....one you would use for hybridizing to increase the size and motion of a bloom, but would pass on growing it as a good garden plant because of scapes needing staking.

Yes, like Judy, I too grew LIME PEEL for a while but ultimately got rid of it because of the weak scapes. It was in full sun and couldn't bear the weight of the blooms. Pretty, but it had to go

Lime Peel is in its third year here, and it is definitely the tallest daylily we grow. Yes, we have had to stake the scapes at times, but we don't mind because we love the flowers.

I never found the scapes weak here, but I never had that many flowers on the scapes. I do love the shape and color of the flower.
