Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Long Stocking')

I received this plant back in April of 2016, it established itself very quickly and bloomed that year. This year in 2017 it has make great progress and put on quite a show. I did not get measurements and stats for it this year, but I have been well pleased with the way it has performed and the lack of rust shown on the plant the past two years. Hopefully next year I will get some stats on it here in my garden.

Lovelovelove Long Stocking. It is evergreen, but perfectly hardy in my zone 6 CT garden. Makes pretty kids and passes on its vigor and nice bud count. Big bold blooms that steal the show in a clump.

I'm so very fond of Long Stocking! It is right out my kitchen window and I see it first thing in the morning during bloom season. And it is one of the first to bloom and has put up rebloom scapes some years. My husband likes it too and happens to be the picture taker. I think we have more pics every year of Long Stocking then we do any of of the others.

Hmm. Hasn't thrived here in 6a. It blooms, but is not very well budded and scapes are much shorter than registered. Perhaps it needs a new location, but I don't find the blooms that interesting, as I prefer a brighter shade of red.

I had Long Stocking at one time til it got crown rot and I lost every fan. I loved it, always bloomed well and multiplied well. I didn't replace it when it died simply because I have a couple other similar looking ones which also did well.

Long Stocking did manage to grow here not thrive and the bud count was low. Was removed as there are plenty of other cultivars that do well in the north.

I received Long Stocking 2 years ago. The first flower was beautiful but this year it outdid itself and put out a poly. A friend in southern Ontario also has it and she told me it polyed for her to - have to love those polys! I'm in Canada, about 2 hours north of Toronto and it is quite hardy here.

I purchased Long Stocking in the spring of 2011 and it might be 6 or 8 fans now. I really like the height of it and even though it does lean a little, it isn't much. Branching and bud count isn't spectacular, but I do love the way the petals curl.

It has done well here in 6b,has kind of a dull color.

I have had Long Stocking for a good many years, and it has survived -25 easily. It increases very well here, and like a lot
of the unusual forms and spiders, it blooms in the early medium season and is about done when the rest of my garden
is at its peak. It is pod fertile, but only has a cluster of buds at the top with no branches. The flowers remain large while
it is in bloom, but the color is not as vivid as I would like. For me it has always been very dependable and a reliable bloomer,
but I replaced it this year with Red Skeletons.
