My daughter just bought a new home and this plant is one of the plants on the property. The house is in a new development and this plant seems to be a popular choice of the developer landscaper. I assume it is a native to this Fort Worth area 7a zone and expected to do well in this climate.
My son is law is very curious about what it is.

Thank you. What a classic old plant. Something my grandmother would have known right away.
