Swap Team,
We are up to 50 swappers. I'm sure we will add a few and lose a few by swap time, but that is a good number and should lead to another great swap with a diversity of seed types.
For game players, the first game of the swap will be posted in "The Game is Afoot" thread this evening. The prize for this first game will be....seeds, of course. Smiling
Alana

Is this also the thread where we can start hawking our wares to drum up interest for some of our special offerings?

Good morning,
We've had a few more sign-ups and the trade list for the swap is growing. I'm already impressed by the scope of this year's offerings and many people are just beginning to add seeds, or will be over the next few weeks. Also, we are welcoming some new participants. This will be fun!

Our seed catalog grows every time I look at the additions. Some of you are so prepared and efficient that it makes my head hurt, much envy.

Look for another game on Friday, a simple guessing game.

Would anyone be interested in this native wildflower? It grows along side oak trees. I've never collected seeds but it looks like it's about to go to seed now so I can collect some if anyone's interested. And I'll have to protect the plants from Mr. Mow's Everything Down. Sighing!

I would try it. It's parasitic to White Oaks, but I read that it is considered not vigorous enough to cause damage, and it is a host to larvae of the Baltimore Checkerspot, so my kind of plant.

Cool. Will plan to save seeds. Thumbs up I usually see just a few plants each year. I like butterfly host plants too.

I've just put in my order with Chiltern to have some special seeds for the sale. I've ordered Pink Muhly Grass, peony poppies, Hellebores, and 20 packs of Bargain Basement packs. I can't wait to see what they will be. Woohoo!

Uh oh. I was getting out my seed boxes and notes from last year and found an unaddressed bubble envelope in one of the boxes, complete with my return address and postage.
I opened it and found Lime Basil and Turk's Turban squash seeds from Sorellina. She had to send a follow up package last year because she left out some seeds and I was distributing them to the recipients after the swap. Apparently, I got this package ready to send and misplaced it. If it should have been yours, please let me know and I will send it to you in your package this year. The envelope was sealed, so these two packs would have been exactly what you were short.
I am so sorry! D'Oh!

There are 55 participants signed up for the swap and there is still plenty of time for more players before swapping begins in November. In the meantime we can continue to chat and play games while we work on our seed lists.

So...I'll pick a brain or two, if I may. Does anyone have any tips for growing 4 'O' Clocks? For the last few years mine have grown, but with no exuberance. It's like they resent the effort.

I had them for several years, but I'm afraid I'm no help. The more I took care of them, the worse they did. When I decided I was done & started yanking them up, they took off with a vengeance. So from my experience, the more you ignore them, the better they do.
