Hi Melissa - yep we all have a list, we just have to add the plants that we have to it...So when you are looking at a plant in the database if you scroll down the page a little, on the left hand side you will see a blue box with the words "add this plant to your list" if you click that box a window opens this window has the heading 'Add this plant to your list' inside the box is a 'status' heading with a drop down box, choose the one that matches - for example if it is a plant you'd like but don't have, you can click 'want' or if it is one you have then you'd click 'have' From here I click 'close' after I've changed the status of a plant that I'm adding. Now it is in your plant list and when you go to your profile you will see an item 'plant list' with whatever plants you've added. These lists are public so I can view other member's lists to see if what I have is something they want, it makes trades much easier! Thumbs up Hope this helps. I think there is a tutorial on how to add plants to your list somewhere on NGA

Ok. I may be going nuts because I do not remember starting this topic. I am sure I posted this on the Dragons Eye thread.

JR is a paint horse. A sorrel overo. I have had horses for 15 years and they have all been paints. Except for the crazy was Arab that broke my arm.

Greg.......Thanks for the tips on the plant list . I will get to work on mine.

So, I am sitting here adding plants to my list and I appear to have one that is not in the database.

You are not losing it Melissa. I broke this off from the original thread so we would get off topic. This new thread we can freely talk about our other interests. Smiling

My little Arab was the best ranch horse out of all them. She could work circles around the others, always quite natured and would do anything you asked of her. She died at 24 from cancer.
Nice list Melissa. Thumbs up

Karen I think once we love horses we always love them. It was a difficult transition for me to not have them anymore.

That's true, Lynn. I miss them but am hoping our youngest will have some eventually. She used to show in Paint and Pinto shows. She has a lot of award saddles she needs to use. Rolling on the floor laughing

Thank god! I thought I was really losing it.

Good idea, Other Interests spot.

Lynn, I am so glad you had a great Arab. The one I had was weird to say the least. Did not like you to use a mounting block at all (which I need). Bucked me off when I was mounting him, fractured my left arm and it took 6 hours of surgery to put it back together. Since then I have stuck with paints.

My other interests are my Samoyed dogs. Meet Keno, Bridget and Boomer. We also do Samoyed Rescue for the past 20 years.

One year I decided to start drinking ginger ale and happened upon ginger beer instead. Then I went on a taste-testing binge of any ginger beer that I could find and rated them on a scale from 1-10. I took all the ginger beers rated 8 to 10 and then rated those to get my favorites, 1, 2 and 3.

A pre-diabetic annual glucose test result later and I had concluded the top three to be:
#1 favorite: Maine Root Ginger Beer (hard to find)
#2 Cock N Bull Ginger Beer
#3 Fever Tree Ginger Beer

with the following runner-ups
Bundaberg Ginger Beer
Fentimens Ginger Beer

Note: this was not to be an advertisement of any of the above products. I was not paid to mention any of the above.

What is Ginger Beer? Is it a soda or an alcoholic beverage, Bev? I don't get away from the yard much, Rolling on the floor laughing .

How could I forget this?!! My newest obsession.

My Mom makes the yummiest raspberry jam in the world. She use to make it and give it to us but is getting on (she is 95) and can't really do it anymore.

So a couple of years ago I sort of took over, with her blessing.

This summer I made something like 150 jars of jam. Needless to say I give a lot away to friends and family as no way 2 people could eat that much jam.

This year I made strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, marionberry, boysenberry, blackberry, wildblackberry, plum, apricot, apricot/pineapple, peach, peach/pineapple. I may have missed some.

It now appears that it as become a hobby with me but there is just something that I find satisfying about making the jam. And it's really cool that everybody loves it so much.

I have had a couple of requests for apple butter so I may have to have a lash at that one.

The ginger beer I drink is non-alcoholic.

Frequently asked question:

What is the difference between ginger ale and ginger beer?
The big difference between ginger beer and ginger ale is that ginger beer is brewed (fermented) but ginger ale is just carbonated water that's been flavored with ginger. ... And some large-scale soda companies that still produce ginger beer actually make it by adding a stronger ginger flavor to carbonated water.

It's just like ginger ale except stronger taste of ginger and a little spicy-ness that surprises people when they don't expect it.
Now the reason I rated the different brands is that not all ginger beers are the same. That means that not all Moscow Mules (has ginger beer as an ingredient) will taste the same either...
Now don't get me started on Cheese Puffs and which I think is the best, etc. I've ruined many a grocery budget trying to fit those into my life and other people's lives...
It is a wonder I'm not 300 lbs...

Well I am loving this 'Other interests' thread.

Once you have great Ginger Beer you will never go back to Ginger Ale.
And be careful that Bev does not get you started on cheese puff. Whistling
Suffice to say, "You can't eat just one."

Yum, Melissa that jam sounds wonderful.

That is wonderful that you have therapy dogs.

A breeder that I got my one and only show Samoyed from had two Samoyeds that were therapy dogs. They are really good at that because they are naturally VERY affectionate.

I am definitely going to have to give ginger beer a try.
