Sometimes splotchy here. Wonder how often that occurs in other gardens. Hasn't been a fast multiplier.

I purchased Born to Reign from Dancing Daylilies in June and though it hasn’t bloomed yet, it has done well in the garden.

I can’t wait for it to bloom next year and I will be posting performance records in the database. (I’ve had leafminer issues with most of my daylilies, but that’s about it.)

Mantis - I didn't know you had that one. It has a beautiful color in your garden. I just added it this fall and received a three-fan plant. Maybe yours will be less splotchy next year. I hope it's not regularly splotchy here.

This was the 3rd bloom year for Born to Reign. The first 2 years I rather regretted it, most all the blooms were splotchy, VERY splotchy. This year every single bloom was beautiful, huge blooms. When it is like that, it is one of the most beautiful blooms I have. A sturdy plant that multiplies pretty well. I'm anxious to see how it does next year. Hoping that it just needed extra time to settle in to resolve the ugliness.

It was my first year having it and it was beautiful and was not splotchy.

Has the awarding of acorns been discontinued? I notice that recently none are being awarded. That is okay, but then the related section in the introduction should be deleted.

Brand new this year, planted April 2021, Born to Reign only produced one flower this year. That's fine, I hope it is putting energy into next year's blooms. The flower wasn't even all that blotchy!

Update, 2022. Despite growing to 3 fans ( from 1) in April, it was down to 2 fans by Fall. The pant is in a good location, so not sure what the problem is. BR bloomed from July 7-23 with 8 blooms. 4 out of 8 were blotchy ( or slightly) but the other four were gorgeous.

2023 update…BTR had a good year, doubling its fans and producing 14 flowers from July 5-27. Little to no blotchiness. I guess it takes this flower a few years to settle in.
