That is the nicest pic of Kirinmaru that I have ever seen. Can I ask where you bought your plant?

Hi Karen--I just found your post. Better late than never, I guess. Smiling Several large horticultural firms have used my photo on their labels. If I recall correctly, I bought it from Van Bourgondien's wholesale catalog quite some years ago. I haven't seen it listed lately, so I don't know if they still have it available.

It's available right now from Spring Hill: https://www.springhillnursery....

Several other mail order nurseries had it available earlier in the season but are now out of stock. I would advise you not to order from Michigan Bulb Company.

Another dazzler is a tree peony called 'Shima Nishiki':

No problem, Larry! You did respond to my email awhile back for the above question. Five years ago, I did order a Kirinmaru from Springhill. Unfortunately, when it bloomed 3 years later, it was a mislabel and a generic pink. Although I got a credit from Springhill, it was still infuriating as I had waited 3 years for the plant to grow and bloom and to find it was not the true Kirinmaru. I got one from Michigan Bulb this fall in spite of their spotty reputation. Given my experience with Springhill, I think I may have better chance getting a correct one from MB. Well, hopefully they will send me the right one. Crossing Fingers! Crossing Fingers! I planted Shima Nishiki this fall so hopefully I will get flowers in a few year. I don't know why I should be obsessed getting the right Kirinmaru as I have a couple of striped peonies already. Thanks for the response and Happy Thanksgiving!
