I know the purple ones are Wandering Jews, but I bought the little green one in the corner today and I thought that's what it was but the little spiral formation of leaves is throwing me off. Help please!

It looks like some sort of bromeliad to me.

I can see why it reminds Daisy of a Bromeliad. But I think it's still a Wandering Jew (one of this plant's many names). I'm basing my opinion on cuttings that I received from a friend. She has the plant growing all around her house and the green and purple are intermingled. But it could be something else. Ya never know.

The green one is definitely not a wandering jew. Most likely a bromeliad. Now in the upper left hand corner I see a different green plant that while I can't see much what I see reminds me of wandering jew.

It does look like a Tradescantia.

I found photos on the internet with it described as "green and white variegated" but they are all Pinterest photos that lead back to Ebay. This is the only non-Ebay or Pinterest reference:

So a cultivator? I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

I love it, Lindsey. I have the normal common one but have never seen this one! You got a great one. Let us know if it grows as well as the more common one.

Thank you!!! I will keep you updated. The girl at the greenhouse had no idea but she was new, I’ll have to stop back when some of the owners are there! I know they grow a bunch of these themselves so I’ll have to ask what exactly it is! I’ve never seen one with that spiral leaf growth!!

Just curious. Was there a label (correct or not) on the plant when you bought it?

Now with the better pictures I can see it's definitely wandering jew. But the close up of just the spiral really didn't look anything like it. Thanks for the better pictures for all of us.

There were no labels!! It was in a big tray of plugs of purple wandering Jews! And I can totally see how it looked like some form of bromeliad at first in that pic

Now I'm not sure. The newer pictures that you posted look more like baby Bromeliads. If stiff or rough to the touch, then could be a Bromeliad.

it's without a doubt a Wandering Jew. What I have noticed with mine is that when they are in full blaring sun--living in the state with the northernmost latitudes in the lower 48( yes I know Minnesota has a postal Depot slightly more Northern but the bulk of Washington state is far more north than that), my wandering Jew's turn ridiculously Green in the winter time or in the summer if I have them in a Northeastern window. To get their best purplish greenish bronzeish Silverish color, they need to be in a Southwest exposure. definitely a beautiful Trandescantia!!! Lovely!

Thank you so much! It’s very pliable, not like a bromeliad! I have a purple one and it has the most BRILLIANT colors! The purple/bronze/silver hue is really just stunning. It is in a hanging pot in a window in my room and it is just loving the sunshine it gets. Hopefully this other little weird WJ cultivar likes it too.

Your WJ cultivar is awesome! If anyone can get a cutting of this Bolivian Wandering Jew(below), let me know! I received a cutting and planted it in my garden (spring summer fall months only in PNW, lol, as it's a weather-pristine li'l girl), and she was the Belle of the ball in all of my planters for an entire year! She survive the winter in my garage, but I lost her in late spring with an unexpected late Frost.
Bolivian Wandering Jew is a showstopper, show girl for sure!

Variegated Basket Plant (Callisia fragrans 'Melnikoff')
or Callisia congesta,

Not a Tradescantia. Looks like C. soconuscensis to me. C. fragrans has much longer leaves.

Until the past few years, I'd never seen WJ used to refer to any plant besides T. zebrina. The other Tradescantias & similar relatives from Commelinaceae family have other nicknames.

@deebie you were right!! I went back to the greenhouse and found the owner and she said it was C. congesta!!!
