Vigorous and I remember it as providing nice color this past summer. Not a tall red (about registered height here), nor is it fancy, but it is vivid. Flowers barely above the scapes the past two seasons. I decided to eliminate it.

Vigorous and fantastic color. It blooms its registered height. It is front of the border plant. It is loaded with buds and will occasionally rebloom. When there are multiple blooms on it, it is great. Color is sunfast and vibrant. It is certainly a winner. Increases well and rebounds from being divided.

I got this one from stilldew in August. I can say that even though I kept it in a bucket of water for a few weeks, it has settled in nicely and has put on fresh growth. Not much else to add except I am impatiently awaiting next spring's blooms...

I also got mine form stilldew this year also. It is doing fine so far, but way to early for me to do any reporting on it.
I decided to go out and take a look at my "Fire On The Mountain' I received back in September from stilldew. It arrived with three fans.
It is looking very good now especially this late in the year, and now has a new fan already showing. So it seems to be able to establish itself here in my garden pretty quickly and hopefully will bloom next spring.
'Fire On The Mountain' when it arrived.

I noticed a question about acorns not being given around a week ago in one of the DotD threads. I did contact Becky about it, but haven't heard back yet. The last not-a-raffle-raffle will be closing soon and to make sure everyone has their acorns for buying tickets I will go back through the DotD threads to get the acorns caught up for everyone from my own personal stash. If I miss acorning one of your posts let me know! Smiling

I can give you some to spread around, Char. I have a lot, and being in Canada can't enter the raffles.

Originally acquired for TX garden, a small clump was moved to MI a few years ago. As a dormant, it has better bud count and branching in MI. Of course, the soil is better in MI. Vigorous fan growth both climates. Achieves registered scape height. Pod/pollen fertile. Faint watermark seems more prominent in MI. MI foto below
