Read this article: Harvesting and Storing Pumpkins and Squash in https://garden.org/learn/artic...

Like the article but I have a question. I know little of these things and less of cooking anything (have to go online to boil eggs) so what does it mean to "cure" squashes and pumpkins??? It is not clear to me. Is curing = placing them in a 70-85 spot for xyz weeks? If so, how many weeks can someone suggest? A few for me can be as much as a month. Is that too much? Only two?

TIA!
