couple of thoughts.

I'm working on trying to get the blinds clean. Looks like I'll probably have to buy new ones though. The ones on the left of the big window are after my attempt to clean them with bleach, barkeeper's friend, dish detergent, etc.

I'm also trying to figure out what to do with the sun room on the right of the house. those ceiling to floor things never sit straight.

I wouldn't mind repainting the wood on the house a different color.

I know this is the landscaping forum, but everything has to work together right? so if you have any ideas that can help with those aspects, or require a change to those aspects, feel free.

With that out of the way, I really want ideas on what I can plant in my front yard to make my house look nicer. I hate that fence my neighbors built on the property line (though it does protect my yard from them.

stuff like that. I'm not the most artistic person, I could really use the help of people who are good at this sort of thing.

You are lucky to have a complete "blank slate" to work with!
Step one is to find out where the underground utilities are buried - gas, telephone, sewer, water - so you don't accidentally hit any of them when you dig.
It looks as if your power line is overhead, so you will want to avoid planting a tree where it might grow up to touch the wires. Remember that treetops expand sideways as well as up!
Some ornamental bushes planted along the fence will help to soften its stark appearance. If your neighbor does not mind, you might attach a trellis to the fence and grow climbing plants on it.
Do you want a "low maintenance" garden or one that you can happily spend hours working in?

The vertical blind that won't hang straight either needs raising from the top or trimming at the bottom so that the slats do not touch the floor. I think verticals are great, as they don't accumulate dust!
