Garden Sages Plant Identifier
Find some seed - usually available as 'Cat Grass' (but check the package as sometimes its oat grass) at the local nursery or online as wheatgrass. I plant it in 4-inch plastic pots with potting soil (but I grow it for my cat, not for myself). Put it in a sunny window and keep it watered. It is ready to eat or feed to your cats, birds... in about 10 days. I start pots about a week apart. You can harvest them when they get to size and put them back in the window to continue to grow.

I know the online instructions say soak them and plant after they germinate. I have never done that and I also put a very thin layer of soil over the seed.

I see you live in Malibu - you could grow your's outdoors. It takes the same care as a lawn but is an annual grass so expect it to die after a couple cuttings.

Hope this helps.
