Oftentimes, there are important issues that come up during the course of a swap, before it, or after it. This is where I will post those important notices, so keep an eye out here for updates, particularly as we get closer to the swap start time and during the swap. It is also important to check your Tree-mail for notices that I may send to you directly, or to the group as a whole, usually in the month directly preceding the swap and during the swap.

Is there a minimum number of packets for this swap?

Hello, Tamara! My general policy has always been a 3 packet minimum; however, if the average number of packets falls below a certain number per person, I reserve the right to either call for members to add more packets or to cancel the swap. We always have a very generous group of participants, though, so it never seems to be an issue. I always say to contribute as much as you feel comfortable contributing. Smiling Usually, established gardeners have dozens or even hundreds of seed packets to contribute, but the minimum is set low to allow new gardeners the chance to join the swap and collect seeds to help them get their gardening start....and then they can return the next year with a greater number of seeds!

I haven't listed the details/rules for this Fall's swap just yet, but they should be nearly identical to the previous swaps. You can view the details from last fall's swap here: https://garden.org/apps/swap/v...

I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them in the FAQ thread (within this swap).

Ticket multipliers have been bumped up to FIVE!!!

Thanks to all of the wonderful offerings you have all submitted, I feel confident that this swap will work out best with a multiplier of 5 (meaning that you will be awarded 5 tickets the first day, 10 the second day, 15 the third day, and so on....) I hope you all have created some pretty big wish lists! Lots of seeds looking for homes this time around. Big Grin

One other update. In a previous email or post, I had talked about bumping the fee for the swap up by ten cents, to $7.25, to help cover the newer costs of shipping. The price update didn't take previously, I must have forgotten to save the new amount Blinking so I am very sorry if the new price is alarming to anyone. I will not be changing the price again and if the extra ten cents creates a hardship on anyone or makes anyone feel uncomfortable, please feel free to just send the initial amount (of $7.15). I'm not going to let a dime ruin anyone's chances at having fun in this swap. ;-)

Tom, that's really sweet of you! Group hug You don't have to do that, of course! If you choose to, however, it will definitely be put to good use.

EVERYONE: Keep your eyes peeled on the swap forum for a new thread around the end of the swap. I have some 2017 daylily seeds I'm giving away. Maybe another item or two, also. Rolling my eyes.

And speaking of the end of the swap, there's still time left to the swap! There may have been seeds entered mid-swap that you want and there may be seeds you overlooked that you should take a second look at. Joolie was awesome about advertising her overlooked-but-wonderful seeds Thumbs up and there are many other goodies still in the swap. Shameless plugs are welcome, LoL! Let's get those babies (seeds) some new homes to go to! Happy bidding today!

The packages are coming in but, due to the family and festivities at my house the last several days, I simply have them collecting in a safe spot and will be updating my 'received' list in the next day or two once I can get through them all! Please don't worry if you don't see yours marked as 'received' yet. Smiling We celebrated Thanksgiving out of town on Thursday and then hosted our celebration (with a bunch of out-of-town guests) on Saturday, so you can imagine how busy its been here! Especially when you consider that a tornado (figurative, not literal) has blown through our house multiple times in the last two weeks. You'd think we have ten people that live in this house with the amount of mess we make!

Don't worry about it, that's what package stalking is for. I think USPS cals it "tracking" tho. I can watch and know exactly when it's delivered.

I'm impatiently waiting for my seeds to get sent, but I know the holiday slows things down. You'll get them sent soon enough.

Just popping in for a quick update: I believe the last of the seed packages arrived today! (I need to double-check it's actually the last, though.)
