You can post them here, but the thread that is set up and designed for your wishlists is the "wish lists" thread. That is where people will go to get an idea for which seeds are desired, so anything posted here might get buried, might not be seen by the 'right' person (who has your desired seeds), or might not be seen in a timely manner.

Are your amaryllis the "Dutch" type or the hardy "Naked Lady" type?
Looks like "Dutch" in the thumbnail photos.

They are the Dutch type. There are A LOT of seeds in 1 Tbls. but my dad sent so many seeds I was able to be very generous with them. They are from this summer.

This swap is filling up nicely. I imagine it will be full by start time. I'm excited!

Thank you for replying - I read it right away, but didn't have time to respond right then. I'm more interested in the hardy varieties, because I'm too busy to coddle house plants (I've limited myself to 6 orchids and 3 cacti - they are all on a once a week watering schedule ). I'm wondering if @shalyn would be interested, since she can grow them outside.

@gngrbluiz You list three different types of peach tomatoes. I have the Wapsipinicon (love it) and I'm wondering about the differences between it and the other two. Can you share your experience with them?

Of the three peach tomatoes listed, I've grown both Speckled and Wapsapinicon. I got a few fruits off each plant, though the growing conditions were less than ideal. Of those two cultivars, I preferred the flavor and sweetness of Speckled. It is on my short list of "favorites" to grow again, in the future. I probably won't grow Wapsapinicon again, simply because it didn't "stand out" to me and there are a couple hundred other cultivars I want to try.

The Yellow Peach seeds came from an heirloom tomato I purchased at a local farmer's market, and the fruit impressed me enough to save the seeds. I haven't grown them out, yet, but look forward to finding out how they are different than the others. Maybe I should remove it from the swap list?

Please don't remove it! I just wanted to know what they were like, in case I'm able to get either of them. Thanks for sharing.

Was Speckled Peach sweeter to you than Wapspipinicon, then? Wapsipinicon is extremely prolific here two years in a row with a flavor I love. I have a sweet tooth but although I didn't think of this one as sweet, it definitely isn't tart. I considered it savory, with a flavor on the end that reminds me of turkey bacon. I really like it, and will grow next year but there's room for new potential favorites this year.

@ericabraun did you get the Baker's Creek seeds labeled Chichiquelite or Garden Huckleberry? I'm wondering because they list both. Also wondering if the difference is in species, since they didn't list species for the chichiquelite.

@lovesblooms The Chichiquelite seeds I have listed are not from Baker Creek. They were from a trade. I double checked and my trade list is properly marked. They came to me labelled "Chichiquelite."

In response to the other... Chichiquelite and Garden Huckleberry are the same thing, as far as I know. They should both be (Solanum melanocerasum, syn S. nigrum guineense). As to why Baker Creek has them listed separately, I couldn't say, beyond that it looks like they are promoting one to be location specific.

@lovesblooms I'm super happy with mine. I've only had to plant them once. They reseed, but rather sparingly, so as to not become a pain to manage.

Ok here's a couple questions about the seeds on the posted wish lists...

Those of you who grow Amaranth, are you growing it strictly as an ornamental or do you harvest it as an edible? Both?

I've noticed that Coleus are a hot item. I've got several VERY old seed packets that I'm going to try to grow out next year. Are they tough to get seed from? Just wondering why they are in such high demand. I would think that the amount already distributed overt the last two swaps would be enough to keep someone going year after year.

Coleus is pretty easy from seed but I've noticed it is a slow grower once its germinated. I start mine fairly early so they get a good start. Once they are outside and it stays warm they get going really good. Seeds are often hard for those in the colder areas once they get frost if they haven't flowered, I think that's why they are in demand for some.

I grow amaranth as an ornamental, but whoa you get a lot of seed/grain. I grew one Dreadlocks plant and got at least two cups of seeds. I still have over a cup from two years ago and since I doubt I'll ever get rid of it all, I'm considering popping some to make a puffed grain-type cereal and sample it that way. I'll report back if I do. The other way reported for cooking it is to make porridge, but I'm not a porridge person.

But you really don't have to plant much unless you plan to make it a staple grain, and it's simple to harvest: just wait on the seedheads to dry out and shaking to separate the seeds. They don't have a hull or saponin coating like oats, rice, or quinoa.

I like coleus because they always look so awesome. Growing from seed is a fun surprise! I always lose so many seedlings though. I'm terrible with tiny seeds. My friend bought almost all of the awesome mixes from swallowtail and grew them out. She sent me a bunch of mixed seeds, plenty to share in this swap, ill list them in case anyone might be interested.

I grew my first amaranth this year and I was REALLY impressed. I grew the Hopi red, orange giant, and viridis. Orange giant was by far my favorite. I planned to harvest for grain, but I really just hate eating seeds! Every poor flax or Sunflower seed on the bread! 😥 my boyfriend always wants the pumpkin seeds, oh no! I grew some peanuts too and don't want to eat them! Anyway, the amaranth was gorgeous. The orange was really impressive. The color didn't fade at all with age like I expected. It made homes for some cute bugs. I should have taken better pictures of it but I didn't.

Has anyone ever grown Tidy Tips Daisies (layia platyglossa)? After Leslie mentioned all the seeds packets she was buying for this swap, I thought I might look for some fresh things too. I bought enough to grow and list here.

Richard, I haven't grown that species. Only L. elegans. It is supposed to be helpful in repelling aphids or whiteflies. I can't remember which. Actually I think they just attract hover flies which are predators.

I've never had much luck with them though because I always plant them too close to my veggies and they end up getting shaded pretty bad. They do bloom though before they die so they must be pretty hardy. If I grow them this year it will be in a pot so I can move them if necessary.
