I never make that decision until I see what is available @ the store. Have fun!!

I guess that would depend on alot of factors. Like, how much light you have, do you want a vining plant or something that grows upward? Something challening or super easy to grow?

Excuse me if I poke a little fun at this thread. I love plants and kind of hate to see them sold to people who do not know how to take care of them and/or have the right conditions. I suggest some research on the subject before buying. This forum being a good place to start. Gene

Don't think anyone is poking fun Adam, it's just sensible to buy a plant that suits the conditions you can provide for it.

The quoted paragraph has a lot of information. With which point do you disagree?

It is fun to go buy the plants that you like, and then come home and research them as to what are their best conditions.
I learn about new plants that way.

Also think about growing some of them from seeds.

I agree, to a point, unless and until it comes to plants that can't survive where I am, in the conditions of my location that are beyond my control. Any plant that can't take 95°days, 80° nights, with oppressive humidity for about half of the year is one on which I would want to avoid wasting any of my very small plant budget. And since plants are going to come inside at times over winter, any plant that is a diva about needing high humidity will be equally disappointing for me. I don't waste time & $ on those either.

I would love to suggest some plants, but I would need some information first, about the Zone, the light conditions, what kind of plant are we talking about, do you want something for a windowsill, something that climbs or spills, etc. Sansevieria is a plant that can live in a wide range of conditions provided, Zamioculcas another, etc. But first things first, some information more on the above?
In some Native languages the term for plants translates to "those who take care of us."
