Annette I placed an order for it as soon as Song Sparrow updated the website for 2018. I wonder if they will ship it in the Spring? Craig has received Tree Peonies in the Spring in previous years and they have gone on and bloomed!

I also ordered Right Royal. I saw a picture of it on Planet Peony and fell in love!!

Song Sparrow's tree peonies are potted. They will ship when weather permits spring through fall, except some extremely hot days in summer.

Is BTB not available last year?
I remembered seeing it many times on Sparrow website.

Solaris did have it last week.

They ship in pots?? Isn't that very expensive. BTB is studding. Almost, just almost, I want to order it. But I was making a list of all that are coming next fall, herbaceous, shrub, and intersectional and MY OH MY, where will I put them. May be digging up lawn

Littlebin, I couldn't find BTB last year. I even called one of the nurseries directly, and they didn't have it available.

Mary, just go ahead and remove the grass now to make room for BTB, I'm sure you'll have no regrets😁!

You are welcome, LG. I think you can receive a potted tree peony with buds and enjoy a couple of flowers.

Mary, those are small 4-liter pots, but the plant size is reasonable, I think. I ordered last year and they told me the tree peonies they offer are 3rd or 4th year grafts. The one I received is a 3rd year but unfortunately has a split crotch. The shipping cost is $25 for 1~3 tree peonies. For one, the shipping is expensive; for three, the shipping is not but the total will be a little high.

I ordered a tree peony along with several herbaceous from Song Sparrow last year, all arrived at the same time this fall. The tree peony was potted.

Peony Plan, shipping to Alaska is quite often three times (at least) what it is in the lower 48. Song Sparrow won't ship to Alaska at all. I have to transship in Portland to get it here - takes more time and is more expensive yet.

It would be difficult to try to kill the lawn now - it is under over a foot of snow and ice. lol

Mary, I considered to buy 2 heb. peony roots on sale last fall from Song Sparrow (did not buy because one was sold out while I was thinking), they said the shipping would cost $15. I don't know how much it would cols for tree peonies though.
