Thread OP

Thanks to Ron Ryan and his obsession with Epiphyllum I became a mad collector.
A visit to Ron and his vast collection would set anyone going. His advice proved invaluable, setting me up for getting names correct. As there are so many out there that have been mixed up. One of my big buy up from Sydney in 2008 was upsetting when bloom time came. One needs to have descriptions and sound images.
I always had Epiphyllum but had never seen a very large collection.
I now have 100s of varieties not huge by some of the older collections that used to be around. Joyce Carr managed 2000
plants of cacti. Don't know how she did it.
Last winter was very hard on the plants here, getting the growing conditions right changes each year.
2 seedlings
Grizzly X Huge bloom 26-28 cm almost blinding orange red. I have used this seedling 2nd year bloom to X with a few hoping to get some color.
Alchemy X Med bloom. 3rd year bloom improved each year.
