Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Tetrina's Daughter')

I absolutely love this daylily. I have it in the back of several beds. Nothing seems to effect her. Drought or flooding, she bloomed very well thru both. During our drought year it is in a bed that cannot be reached with the water supply and she still had a good bloom season. I have never seen her heave out of the flower bed during winter freeze and thaw cycles. I have not tried to set any pods on her but she is always covered in bee pods at the end of the season. Dividing can be a challenge. My husband and I each take a garden fork placing it in the centre and we both have to pry to break it apart. A great tall, hardy daylily.

I bought this cultivar this past summer. My husband and I have always enjoyed seeing a patch of tall ditch lilies blooming in our field behind our house where we have our veggie gardens. We can see them from our windows and our back verandah. We thought we would select some other tall ones to plant back there to enjoy, as well. Our first selection was Tetrinas Daughter. We bought it in late July of this past summer. It was purchased, dug and divided in full bloom. It never skipped a beat and continued blooming beautifully. We enjoyed the bright yellow flowers and they show up wonderfully from a distance.

This daylily has not done so well here, but it is probably in the worst spot in my garden where I never water. It hasn't multiplied much and does not bloom very well

I have it in a grouping of tall ones such as 'Autumn Minaret' and 'Purity'. It has done well despite competition from a nearby shrub that won't leave it alone despite my efforts! I've had it many years and it has increased so unquestionably hardy in my USDA Zone 4.
