Yes, I discovered these as a great source for minis and all of the 2017 minis grow here. The 2018's will arrive this spring. We're having a hard winter ( really extended low temps with no snow cover) but I mulched well this fall and am hopeful all will survive. Two of the three minis from them bloomed last season, but probably weren't at their best. Here were the two that bloomed.

Jammin's Little Bitty and Jammin's Pinky Toes. All very cute!

Ginny, they are located in the south keep in mind that they may not be northern hardy in your zone. I would inquire if they know the plant you are interested in has been grown in a northern location.

Thanks Betty. I'm looking on the LA too and have my eye on Little Miss Independent and Little Red Genie. I don't suppose any of you have these and would have any comments on either?

@signet,

Hi signet,

At present there is a Europeanwide ban on the import of daylilies until further notice due to the fact that they can act as hosts to xiyella (fastidiosa?) Virus which if allowed to enter agricultural crops in Europe would be a disaster, both environmentally and economically I understand but I don't know the full details.

There are a couple of growers in the US that have been inspected and declared disease free and can send to the UK but it is very expensive to order as they have a minimum order value and phyto certificate costs on top plus import charges and taxes and the plants might STILL be destroyed by Customs after all that.

Also I am assuming that to retain their clear certificate those nurseries can't import from other parts of the US without paying for reinspection so they are not going to have be latest varieties, although that is just speculation and surmise on my part so please don't quote me on that! Hilarious!

I think that the ban has been in place for around three years now, maybe someone else can clarify that.

Of course we can send plants WITHIN Europe but only ones that were already in Europe before the ban came into effect and we have nowhere near the same choice and number of varieties as are available in the US, especially in Britain.

I believe you're right, Nikki, that's it's been close to three years. This listing of hosts that includes Hemerocallis is dated 2015:

https://www.hortweek.com/xylel...

BTW Xylella fastidiosa is a bacterium, not a virus. Not that that makes any difference to the problem.

Edit: for whatever reason that link doesn't go to the list but wants a sign in, yet the page appears just fine on a Google search. So if you really want to see it, try Googling with the keywords Xylella fastidiosa Hemerocallis.

Just when I thought I was out, you drag me back in. D'Oh!

I try so hard to stay away from the daylily forum, and here I am being enticed by minis.

Ginny Jammins Pinkie Toes got me too as well as Jammin's Starbright Galaxy. Sighing!
