Hello fellow gardeners! I am stumped on a sapling thats came up in my yard & another mature shrub. I have an idea of what it is but not sure the names... any help, thank you

The sapling may be a variety of Quercus (Oak) but I'm not sure.
The shrub reminds me of Ligustrum.
