First, please forgive the pics with their stiff neck inducing quality, I could not change it, and I am too excited to get some input from you guys, to try to any more.

A while back. I asked about rooting some little agave pups, I found on the sidewalk in Mexicali, and was asking for advice here. @Philipwonel, and @Turbosaurus were great. I had talked to you guys about some other little Agave that were everywhere, sidewalks, etc, in Mexicali, last November, I was rooting, or trying to root.

They have rooted. I have pics with items for scale and a couple pots. The are between 3 to 5 inches high, with great roots. Could you have a look and recommend your thoughts going ahead for me. These mean the world to me and will also be gifts, so I am willing to buy what ever, and do what ever to keep them alive. I have got pups to this point only to mess it all up upon potting up before. I don't want to take any chances. Help and thanks!

They look like Agave Americana, those things grow fast and become huge. Good growing!

Ok. I'm done over laughing, now.
Leave them bare 🙊, inside, for a week so any broken roots can scab over.
Get pots with drainage hole/s. 2 to 4 inch pots.
2" for small ones, or really just get 2" for all, being your just starting your journey into the realm.
Also, get a bag of perlite, and bag of catus soil. Miracle Grow brand.
Now, are you ready to pot ???
Well ! Sure ! You can smoke a joint while you do-it-to-it !
Oh !😭!??? You are warped Philip, there's no hope for you.

Now, mix two soils together, equal parts.
Barely moisten soil.
And pot cati up.

Now, IMPORTANT. Don't water for a week.

Then, after watering, let top 1" or 2" of soil dry, before watering again.
Use a BBQ skewer, to poke down to bottom, to see how wet bottom soil is. If bottom is real wet. Hold off on water, a few or several days.

They will shrivel, when to dry.
Rot if to wet.
Dry, Good !

I like to bottom water. Not only, better results, butt ! Less chances of problems occurring. 👍👍👍
That's, put pot into a bucket, fill bucket with water, up to just below top edge of pot. Leave plants soak for 20 minutes.

Great, You have taught me well Philip. That was exactly what I figured. I have terracotta and I have plastic in 2 inch. I am leaning toward plastic as I know how fast those little pots dry up here. Very very fast.

I appreciate it so much. These are from a trip to Mexico to meet sons fiance's parents and cement our families a little. I would so love to see us all have a big o pot of this agave 20 years from now. I would have been crushed to have failed at rooting them, the forum saved me again.

I was kind of feeling I would never know their names, so this is such a nice surprise. Thank you so much Deebie. I tend to underwater now, out of pure fear, so If I can reel that in, maybe they will get big.
