Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Violet Explosion')

Violet Explosion is a beautiful flower. It makes me stop and admire it every time I walk by. Has done very well here in zone 5. It is one of my (many) favorites.

I crossed it with Black Cat X Violet Explosion. I hoped to get the darker color from Black Cat but here is what I got.

Did okay here. Had a few off years, but seemed fairly well suited for the North. For some reason, I lost interest; I think I wanted a more vivid color. Sue's picture shows good bud count. As I recall, multiple blooms could be crowded. Perhaps I eliminated it too soon.

it branched too close for me and I parted w it. I have Fancy Face and like it better, it is similar.
