You are so right! In calmer times, I traveled to Islamic countries, such as Egypt, Turkey, and Libya, and met hundreds of helpful, kind, joyful, normal people. Here in Canada, there are countless Islamic immigrants, and all those I have met are normal: just people, like us. My Islamic dentist is a case in point. He likes to joke, we have chats about vacation plans, and his overriding desire is NOT to hurt me! If North Americans and folk from Islamic countries could interact more, get to know each other as people, I think fear would go away.

I hope the Monty Don program is shown on Canadian TV soon. I love his down-to-earth presentation. He dresses as if he's living out of a rucksack, but you just know there has to be staff and a trailer full of wardrobe and camera accessories traveling with him.

I recently heard Monty Don described as the "rock star of gardening"...the guy who said this said, Look how he holds a shovel, it's like Mick Jagger! Hilarious!
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
