Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Red Suspenders')

Red Suspenders does exceptionally well here. I have two clumps of it due to the large initial plant that I received. Very floriferous indeed !

Grows very well here. Quite top branched here, which can result in crowding. I never cared that much for the cultivar, but it could have some blooms with a flair. Probably a matter of personal taste. For best impact, UFO forms need good spacing of blooms.

This one also grows very well for me. It can be top branched, but I have also had 3 and 4 branches that were spaced well on the scape. Blooms early and for a long period of time. It is pod and pollen fertile. I was slow to appreciate the form of the bloom, as I was not into the UFOs for a long time. I have come around to like this one. Increases well and does not seem to mind being divided.

I bought Red Suspenders in 2015. The first time I saw a picture of it was on Charlotte's Daylily Diary and I fell in love with it.


It is pod and pollen fertile. I crossed it with Fooled me. Here are a couple of seedlings from those crosses:
