This survey is closed. Thanks to all who participated!

In case you didn't see it in the newsletter that went out over the weekend, Jobe's has asked us to run a survey of gardeners.

Here's the snippet from the newsletter:

Our friends at Jobe's Organics have asked us to help them gather some research from gardeners around the country, and they sweetened the pot with some prizes. They want to know about gardeners' use of fertilizers, potting soil, and stuff like that. It's a 27 question multiple choice survey that takes about 5 minutes to complete. At the end it'll ask for your email address, which will then go into the drawing that we (NGA) will do on March 28th. Ten participants will get a nice collection of various products that Jobe's sells. Additionally, one secondary winner will get a $100 Amazon gift certificate. Woo Hoo! (Prizes only available to US addresses only.)

You can take the survey here:

[removed]

We're hoping to get a good sampling so that the survey has a good statistically projectable sample size. To sweeten the pot further, I will give 5 acorns to everyone who enters the survey. So everyone please submit the survey and post here that you did it so I can give you the acorns.

(If you already submitted the survey over the weekend, just post here saying you did and I'll award you the acorns, too.)

I couldn't get past question 21. It kept not registering my answers.

Deb, the same thing happened to me...they wanted you to put what your preferences were in order of what you would do...each one gets a different number. It isn't explained very well.

Confused Well, I had the same issues; got to #21 and it kept wiping out some of my answers and I couldn't get any farther in the survey so I just quit. Sad

Maybe I'll re-try.

Give it a try again. Like Ronnie said, it's not explained very well. You can only use each number 1 time. So if you will definitely being doing a veggie garden this year, give it a 10 but if you have no intention of doing a gazebo or something like that give it a 1 and everything else is in between. Hope that helps!!

Another way of looking at it is picking your favorite and labeling from your favorite to least favorite.

It took me a minute too until I saw that it held the answers if I didn't use the number more than once. Hilarious!

I cannot get past question 18. Each answer I put in disappears when I move down the list. I give up.

Definitely not the best way to shape a survey, especially with regard to what I'll do... been there, done that would have been a better choice. But we play the game for a free raffle.

There is one question that only allows one answer when all the others allow as many that applies. Then of course the one throwing people for a loop which was the 1-10. I can't remember which one 18 is but just try one answer and see if that gets you through.

Well I don't care about the nuts or prizes, so a poorly designed (in my opinion) survey goes unanswered. Oh well. On to other things...

Done. Did I pass?

I agree it was poorly designed. The question that was throwing everyone asked for a 'rating', not a 'ranking'. After awhile, I realized that they meant they wanted a 'ranking'. It's too bad because there were very few things on their list that are even remotely on my list.

There was also a question that only allowed you to check one box when, at least for me, multiple answers applied. I think it had to do with what would make you trust that something was organic. On the other hand, most questions did let you check multiple items. Oh, well.
