It's that time here, for the season I think, hope.

I want to paint all of the accumulated "plant stand" items the same color. Thinking blue or green...

Don't be too jealous, 83 degrees is already a bit warm for me. We just had the heater on yesterday too!

Nice Tiffany! I'd go with painting the stands blue! Since there's already a lot of green with the plants, I think blue would make them pop!

Nice that you already have them outside! I'd love to see blue with the greens of the plants.

TY for the kind comments! And that's the kind of feedback I was looking for, blue seems the clear winner. :+)

Ham, LOL! 83 is about where I stop being cold. But I agree, those up north might be jelly now, but when it's around 95 every day for months, who will get the last laugh? Rockdale! LOL! It's already been over 80 a few times here this year.

If I end up @ L's, I might find a more interesting color like blue-green. ...and more plants!

Last year sprayed some pots with copper spray, and some others with a light blue my daughter had leftover. They looked surprisingly nice together. So consider a light blue ... I always thought of cobalt first.
Plant it and they will come.

I could have sworn I had a picture but, no... sorry! and can't even think where those pots are, must be in the shed Confused I am so itching to move things outside, but we have more nights in the 30s coming. My 'warmest' place is also full sun, so that's a no go. I have some tomato and pepper seedlings growing like mad, so it's getting crowded in here.
Plant it and they will come.

Blue or green covers about 30% of the visual light spectrum, Tiffany! Lime green vs a dark indigo grey- that's almost half, lol.

Color theory is really complicated. PERSONALLY -
I wouldn't paint them, I love the natural wood tone, it matches so nicely with the siding. It really lets your plant's color and shape stand out. I would NOT pick a very bright color especially in the blue green range- pick something muted and greyish- If you go carribean blue, for example, your foliage will look washed out in comparison. Or if you prefer- It will appear silver and unique- its all about your perspective

I would really suggest looking around at pictures online and find what speaks to you. Its gonna be a lot of work, so plan ahead. I can't wait to see what you decide!

I have no natural artistic talent. None! However, I saw a couple pics in gardening magazines, where they had a stepladder painted "Royal Blue". They also had some large pots painted/sprayed/kiln dried "Royal Blue". Definitely looked impressive! Then one day, my neighbour threw out an old wooden stepladder in the roadside garbage and I saw it, and brought it home, painted it "Royal Blue" and leaned it up against a tree, a maroon-leafed "Roberts" chokecherry tree, just as I saw in a magazine. I'm happy with it! " Hey, just thought of it! As the ladder is in my "blue plant" bed, I could paint up a couple of birdhouses with the same paint as accent pieces, and place a few planted blue pots ($Store) overpainted with the same blue??? Just maybe, my Mother didn't raise a dummy? I'm running out of time to disprove that LOL.

Its Never too late to try, Frank.

I doubt a cleverly canted ladder will EVER make up for that time when you were 7 and you (insert embarrassingly cute story) and why would you want to take that away from your mom- LOL
If she's here now or there is an afterlife- She still LOVES tellin' that story

I've always loved pops of royal blue in the garden. I have a few items that I've talked about painting for about 6 years or more and I even bought the royal blue spray paint but alas, it's all scattered about still, or hiding in the garage somewhere ... waiting. Smiling

Same here Tiffany ... we need rain badly; 12 miles of interstate 95 right by us was shut down yesterday (both north and southbound lanes) due to brush fires. I still smelled smoke this morning but heard on the news that they finally got it under control and reopened the interstate.

Finally a warm spell. Taken outside today:
Queens tears
Brugs
Crinum, potted from dry storage
Yautia and edo - grocery store elephant ear types I experimented with last year.
Avocado that has lost all leaves, am going to chop off and see if it branches.
Bloomed out amaryllis.
'Meyer' lemon riddled with spider mites, losing most leaves, but also has several sprays of buds- it must have known I was close to ditching it.
epiphyllums- 2
Hedera helix .
Plant it and they will come.
