Hello, I've finally managed to successfully get a leaf to sprout. What now though? Do I just go ahead and sit it on top of some soil and let it take root or is there something else I should do first? I've tried 6 and this is the only one that's worked!

Yeah! It's ready! Although the roots are going in all directions now, the foliage seems to be started upward from the direction in which you are holding it. I would lay it on soil surface & give those little roots a drink. Within a week or two, some or most of them should be starting to explore the soil. Some that are left out may shrivel, but that's nothing to worry about if so. If you have a squirt bottle with mist setting, you can mist the roots daily until they start to grow into the soil. That kind of misting can also help moisten the soil right by the roots, without adding enough water to make a whole pot soggy.

Thank you very much. I do have a spray bottle so will get on with getting it onto soil first thing tomorrow and give it a spray daily. I really hope this works as I've never had one that's got this far.

Happy to share what I do. Also time to make sure your new baby is getting as much light/sun as the mama plant, get those tiny baby leaves off to a good start. Best luck!

I've done what Tiffany said, and it's worked fine. I've also gone ahead and planted them in the soil. I leave it dry for a few days and then start misting it a bit. It normally takes right off and grows well that way too. Sometimes I do it both ways and the results have been pretty similar.
